LIGHT A HEART
FOUNDATION, INC.
(LAHFI)

The Light A Heart Foundation, Inc. (LAHFI) of the Rotary Club of Waling-Waling Davao (RCWWD) is a non-stock,  not-for-profit  charitable  foundation  registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1996 with the main objective of providing assistance to marginalized mothers and children of Davao City in a nurturing environment.

The Foundation serves as the official custodian of all the monies entrusted to RCWWD through the World Community Service (WCS), Matching Grants (MG), and/or specific fund-raising projects, to undertake the various humanitarian programs of the club.

Membership to LAHFI is exclusive to active members of RCWWD, mainly because all projects are strictly a joint effort — from conceptualization to fund raising and project management.  By doing so, it brings together a wealth of expertise, experiences, and resources from all its members who sincerely and compassionately work together to achieve the goals set before them

Update on Matching Grant #74750
By Senior Assistant Governor Malou Jacinto

MG 74750 Committee members PP Zony and PP Malou, together with Pres. Marivic and Engr. Luchi Padolina of DCWD, conducted site visits of the 3 schools on 17 October, purposely to validate the progress reports submitted by the project contractor LPS Construction Group, Inc. The group was accompanied by Engr. Fred Salonga and Engr. Christy Bactoto of LPSCG.  The project at Gatungan Elementary School (GES) is fully accomplished, and keys to the toilets were turned over to the Principal, Mrs. Ruby Briones.  The group noted how clean the harvested water was, and discussed with Mrs. Briones the program for the coming sanitation seminars.
The projects in Davao City National High School and Sta. Ana National High School are 90% accomplished.  Finishing touches are being undertaken in preparation for the formal turnover on 10 November 2011.
